This book is great. Read it.
It’s witty and fun. It’s an exciting read and I love the Characters. The magic is woven into the story in such a way that it’s very believable, which is one of my favorite things when reading. It’s fun to imagine this could actually happen. The story kept me very engaged and I’ve read it a couple of times and it has great reread value.
The main character, Bishop, has a great arc. I love his inner thoughts. He’s sarcastic and funny, but not over the top. He teams up with his friends, who are his found family, and each of them brings something great to the table.
Honestly, I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it.

I felt like I was in the French Corner walking along this guy! So vivid! The characters are lovable or hateful, or both, and it’s great to see them struggle with this dark world Mewha created. Neat and exciting, this guy knows what he is doing!

This is great! Bishop and his found family of magically gifted misfits battle vampires, religious fanatics, demons and the Darkness that destroys families and communities from within. They do it with sheer guts, ingenuity, love, loyalty and, at times, a laugh-out-loud sense of humour. And watch out for the women: the gifted child, the wounded wife, the sultry succubus torch singer. This is a book you won’t want to put down; and, once it’s finished, the big question you’ll be asking is: when is the sequel coming out?

This is written in a way it’s believable. You can picture yourself walking down these streets and seeing (or not) these things happening. Character development is amazing and the one liners are witty and fantastic. If you like urban fantasy or paranormal reads this has a little bit for everyone in it.
